Family's that Create Together Stay Together!

Adjusting to this new normal of quarantine is not easy, but we are all trying to make the best of it.  Creating joy for our kids each day is so important, but can be overwhelming.  I decided to share some fun things my son has been up to creatively and hope to post some of the extra art activities our Woods Road families are doing as well.  I miss all of my students very much and love seeing what they create with the limited supplies at hand. In addition to the wonderful artwork below from our students at WRS, you can follow me on instagram @violets4bash to see the new art activities I do with my son each day for more ideas.

Brooke has been creating these awesome paper sculptures.  Looks like these horses have a nice place to live.  It is super impressive how we was able to make them stand up.

Shona has been painting shells.  I hope she adds to her collection.

Brandon created an Alien Police chief after being inspired by the cut outs from Henri Matisse.

Look at this awesome recycled weaving Brandon made!

Sarah has been working three dimensional.  She has created several paper dolls like the one above, as well as painted this watermelon bowl.

The Rice family was hard at work making this beautiful path to their home.  What a great way for siblings to spend their time together.

Valerie in third grade has been very busy working on her art.  So many different medias! She has played around with creating on multiple canvases and combing them to create one piece.  Additionally, I see a Dada influence on the milk shake sculpture she created by adding in paper and challenging it's function.

Jaina and her older sister Riya drew some chalk art to celebrate Earth Day this week.

Samantha created a Japanese inspired fish kite.  She first drew and painted the designs of the fish and then stapled it together and added tissue paper for the streamers.

I love seeing siblings work together to create! Josh and his sister Isla have been having fun with Magna Tiles.  They titled them "The Great Hex" and "Pokemon"

The birthday boy himself creating his Pikachu artwork during his virtual painting party he hosted.

Ryan's painting from Matteo's party.

Can you believe Saanvi is only in first grade? She has been making lots of beautiful art and wanted to share.  It seems like Saanvi is dreaming of places she would like to travel to or maybe has already been.

Tony has been creating tons of art at home and for this masterpiece, he was inspired to recreate a reflection in his artwork.  I love how he used color pencils mixed with paint.

Zara a fourth graders has butterflies on her mind as we can see from her beautiful painting.

Myra and her Mom showing off their fun artwork they created at a 1980's themed painting party.

Ani, a third grader has been inspired by some of the cartoon shows he has been watching to create his own characters.  He has been drawing by hand as well as using some digital medias,

This family always gives their best effort and goes above and beyond! Everyone gets involved and I love it.

The Sparks family created this incredibly huge and beautiful color wheel for this weeks assignment as well as this impressive chalk display.  Keep up all of your hard work.

The Venezia family has been hard at work creating masterpieces.  Even the youngest member is getting their hands on some paint.  All I can say is that they are lucky kids to have such great parents who make this all available for them.

This talented third grader found inspiration from the video game Five Nights at Freddy's.  Matteo created one of his favorite characters.

Family is everything!  Myra loves her family and created this artwork including them.

I am super impressed by this second grader Norah's observational drawing of her favorite toy.  Toys make for great drawing subjects!

Anvi is a fourth graders having fun with modeling clay!

Abigail having fun with art at home.

Penelope is only in pre-k and she is impressing us all with her portrait in the making!

Tony and his mom created this fun artwork by using salt, glue, and watercolors.

Some students like Toni have had fun playing architect.

A video game character was the inspiration behind this portrait created by second grader Michael.

This first grader Lucas made this fun collage with a variety of textures, materials, and colors.

Fourth Grader Maggie encouraging her classmates to be creative!

Second grader Mia painted this beautiful portrait of two birds.

This artwork by Andre is super impressive as he limits his color palette and creates a pattern in the background.  Looks like he also added some yummy treats and he is only in kindergarten!

Fourth grader Eshan has enjoyed sketching with pencil and paper.

Second grade artist Mahi created these animals by tracing her hand in different configurations.

Isabella in second grade created this cool t-shirt.

Fourth grader John painted this abstract composition over the weekend!

Second grader Samantha created this rad robot from found objects.

Fourth grader Arusha created this beautiful drawing to illustrate different values.

Marsha in kindergarten create these table set from recycled materials.

Second grader Drew created this awesome painting by choosing his favorite colors, mixing them and pouring them through a strainer.

Sketches from second grader Brandon.

The Moore family working on some murals.

Jack went on a nature walk and created this beautiful dinosaur.

Kindergartner Gabby has been inspired by the first day of spring and oil pastels.

Fourth grader Zara has been tuning into Mo Willems lunch time doodles and creating her own.

Kindergartner Preethi crated this beautiful design.

This family above saves the best for the end of their at home school day!

My son Sebastian doing an observational drawing of his dog Nero.

Making puzzles is fun and so is drawing them!

Tin foil and some paint is a great surface to make a reduction print.  Just cover with paint and then use a q tip to draw into the paint.  If you have a piece of paper you can put on top and rub to create a print.
