Circle Stamping

Our Pre-k artists have left the world of rubbings but are continuing their printmaking unit with STAMPING.  The first day of stamping we looked at some work of Damien Hirst and realized that we saw lots of circles! We then were given a variety of bottle caps which each had a different size circle.  Next,  we started stamping away with circles inside circles and all over our page we made more circles.  The second day of stamping we looked at a different circle painting by Damien Hearst and discussed how we still saw circle, but this time they were inside one big circle shape and we discussed the different colors each circle was.  Finally,  we started stamping again but this time our stamps were more controlled and we got to use different colors.  Students focused on pushing down and quickly picking up.
